Thraupidae - Tanagers

They are very diverse family of sparrow to starling sized birds which feed on seeds, fruit, insects or nectar, according to species. While the tropical species are non-migratory, a few species fly north to breed in temperate North America. Two of these species are extremely rare vagrants to Britain.
