Family: Passeriformes > Cardinalidae

Resembles Scarlet Tanager, but males are paler and females a bit browner;. Summer Tanager has a more southerly range than its congener so is an even rarer visitor to Britain.

Added to the British List on the basis of an individual trapped on Bardsey in 1957.
