Yellow-browed Warblers set to arrive

08 Sep 2017 Yellow-browed Warbler by Jon Lowes

One of the highlights of recent autumns has been the arrival of Yellow-browed Warblers to coastal headlands, and increasingly inland areas. With the nearest breeding population found in the Ural mountains, these diminutive birds travel extraordinary distances to reach our shores.

Last autumn, over 5,000 records were logged in BirdTrack, featuring on almost 8% of complete lists during the peak arrival period. If you are looking to find your own Yellow-browed Warbler this autumn, listen out for its distinctive call.
