Events and grants in Scotland and Wales

Hosted jointly by BTO Scotland and the Scottish Ornithologists' Club, this year's Scottish Birdwatchers' Conference takes place on 18 March at the Carnegie Conference Centre in Dunfermline. With a theme of 'Bird Life from Fife', the programme includes a wide range of speakers, as well as optional outings to nearby birding sites the next day.
The Welsh Ornithological Society small grant scheme aims to encourage research on birds in Wales. Of particular interest are those projects focussing on Amber or Red-listed species listed in The population status of birds in Wales 2. This year's closing date is 28 February.
