Make your birding count

10 Nov 2016 Birding by Stephen McAvoy

More than 5 million records have already been logged in BirdTrack this year; a phenomenal amount of data and all thanks to your recording efforts during the year. Thank you also to everyone who has helped unlock the value of these data by supporting the BTO's ongoing BirdTrack Research Appeal.

With the recent launch of the new version of the app for both iOS and Android devices, it is now even easier to log your sightings in the field wherever you are in the world. One feature to be aware of when recording is the complete list option. This should be used whenever you are submitting a list of all species that were positively identified during your birdwatching visit. Submitting complete lists helps us better understand and monitor the timings of migration.
