BoatTrack?

Following the subject of last week's update (and our BBC Autumnwatch blog), it seems fitting to mention an incredible migration spectacle witnessed by Mike Ambler, aboard a seismic survey vessel 100 miles off the Yorkshire coast. Early in the week large numbers of migrants of a mind-boggling array of species, from Golden Plover to Great Grey Shrike, Brambling to Blyth's Reed Warbler(!), were grounded on deck. Whilst some of the insectivores sadly perished, many of the seed-eaters took advantage of the food Mike provided.
