Bearded Tit

Bearded Tits are not immediately associated with migration but there is some local dispersal in autumn; the Nunnery Lakes here in Thetford were graced by a pair this week, for example, and the BirdTrack reporting rate shows that they are encountered more frequently at this time of year than any other. Interestingly there have been several recent reports from coastal sites of small flocks seen (apparently) arriving over the sea, suggesting that there may have been an influx of continental birds
