Dipper

Dippers are resident in the uplands of the north and west, a distribution pattern which shows up very clearly in the map of last year's records. At this time of year, nominate Black-bellied Dippers occasionally appear from northern Europe, usually on the east side of England and Scotland. Further cold weather in Scandinavia might result in one or two crossing the North Sea; something to look out for on quiet streams away from usual Dipper breeding areas.
