Recording Odonata in BirdTrack

01 May 2018 Migrant Hawker by Phil Luckhurst

Activity of dragon- and damselflies (Odonata) is limited in April, but the first individuals will already be on the wing, and the season will start in earnest in May. You can log your sightings in the BirdTrack website, and records are forwarded to the British Dragonfly Society. Two taxa are of particular interest this year, with the British Dragonfly Society looking for records of White-legged Damselfly and Common Clubtail.

If you have not logged Odonata on BirdTrack before, it is just as straightforward as logging your bird sightings, simply requiring you to click on the 'Dragonflies' tab. Optionally, you can enter counts for the various life stages of Odonata and other optional details.
