Louise Bacon

Ringing Officer

Louise works in the Ringing Recoveries team, processing information on ringed birds seen in Britain and Ireland, especially those ringed elsewhere. She also works on mobilising historic ringing data.

Interests & Responsibilities

Louise's role entails shared management of UK ringing recoveries with Kevin Leighton, and primary management of foreign ringing recoveries. Louise also works on streamlining the upload of historic data to the ORACLE system.

Other Information

Louise is Secretary to the British Birds Rarities Committee, a qualified bird ringer, nest recorder, keen birder, walker, cyclist, conservation volunteer and butterfly enthusiast; more likely to be seen out on the road bike than in a birding crowd.
