Jewels beyond the Plough

An enjoyable excursion through the best of British countryside recording the diversity of flora and fauna to be found in grasslands, brought to life with John Davis’s accurate painterly eye, and Richard Jefferson’s informative text and useful glossary for the layperson. Whilst snow lay outside I basked in the light and colour of the illustrations, handily dated, and started planning my summer and autumn visits to the sites depicted.
