Collins Travellers Guide: Wildlife of Southern Africa

A photographic guide, ideal for the traveller who doesn’t wish to load their self down with multiple guides, yet is keen to be able to identify much of what they encounter. Ideal one-stop-shop for someone going on a safari, including all the other taxa likely to be found, including some of the most likely insects, reptiles and amphibians as well as the more familiar mammals and birds. The choice of a photographic guide over one illustrated with paintings is always a matter of personal choice, but if this guide does suffer it is in the limited number of photos for some species, especially of harder to identify groups such as waders. As an easily transported guide, however, you would struggle to improve upon this.
