Birds of Borneo
I do not have the original edition of this book to hand so cannot compare it directly but the second edition is claimed as fully revised and updated and is evidently somewhat redesigned, not least as it is now published by the Bloomsbury group as a Helm Field Guide. The original was published in the Princeton Field Guide series in 2009, though this is not mentioned in the book itself.
It follows the usual format of such books with an Introduction to the habitats and birds, followed by 144 plates. These are clear and simple and not too cluttered. They also seem remarkably uniform given that there are 15 different artists credited although I can find no indication of which did which. Taxonomy follows the IOC list (version 5.3 of 2015) and texts are accompanied by detailed maps of the distribution within the island.
