Bird Observatories of Britain and Ireland

This new book builds on and updates the first book on this subject, written in 1976. Bird Observatories have developed hugely since the inception, in 1933, of the first one on Skokholm, and are a vital part of migration monitoring and ringing. The main part of the book looks at each observatory in turn, detailing its history, main areas of work, habitats, seasonal highlights, rarities and other flora and fauna. A fascinating insight into the life of Bird Observatories, and highly recommended.
