Secure our Future Appeal
A donation from you will help cement the foundations of a strong and resilient organisation - securing the success of BTO for the future.
It will ensure we have the greatest impact for birds and for society, remaining an excellent prospect for support in a volatile funding environment. This is vital if we are to help secure the future of our natural world for generations to come.
With the financial backing of supporters like you, we will conduct the following research initiatives to build a case for support for BTO, and manifesto for action published alongside a series of receptions for high level opinion formers across the UK. We aim to secure significant long-term support for our core funding as a result.
- Critical review and evaluation of BTO impact in terms of contribution to scientific excellence, public policy and legislative change, and public engagement to provide a justification for BTO’s current and future raison d'être.
- Census report designed to provide a rounded view of BTO research – the breadth, depth and quality of both content, research design and dissemination.
- Horizon scanning to explore the future challenges for the environment and how BTO might help tackle these.
- Comprehensive understanding of the motivations of existing BTO volunteers to aid our volunteer recruitment strategy.
If you plan to make a significant donation of £1400 or more, consider becoming a Witherby Custodian, and become more involved in BTO work.
Thank you for helping us communicate the critical role BTO plays in the sector and determining what we must do to ensure we stay relevant to inform the future security of our natural world.
