Event Information

Winter is the perfect time to get out to your local lough or river to look for ducks, geese and other waterbirds. Many waterbirds (including some 30,000+ pale-bellied brent geese!) migrate to Northern Ireland for the winter and it's a true nature spectacle. These interactive online workshops, led by Sorrel and Jemma from the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) NI, will introduce you to common waterbirds, with lots of useful and entertaining memory aids to learn their identification. All levels of interest are welcome, these workshops will be aimed at folk new to birdwatching and those looking for a refresher.

The two sessions will cover a different set of species each and build on each other. The two sessions will take place on the following dates:

  • Tuesday 3rd October 19:30-21:00
  • Tuesday 10th October 19:30-21:00

Zoom joining instructions will be emailed the day before each session. The sessions will be recorded, so don't worry if you can't make both of them.
