Short interactive online workshops to introduce wader ID in Northern Ireland. An opportunity to learn about common waders and how to identify them in the field, for folk new to birdwatching and those looking for a refresher.

Event Information

Autumn and winter are wonderful times to get out to your local shore or waterbody and enjoy the wading birds that migrate here for the winter. During this series of interactive online workshops, Sorrel and Jemma from the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) NI will help you learn how to identify common wading birds, with lots of useful and entertaining memory aids. All levels of interest are welcome, these workshops will be aimed at folk new to birdwatching and those looking for a refresher.

The two sessions will cover a different set of species each and build on each other. The two sessions will take place on the following dates: 

  • Tuesday 5th September 19:30-21:00
  • Tuesday 12th September 19:30-21:00

Zoom joining instructions will be emailed the day before each session. The sessions will be recorded, so don't worry if you can't make both of them.
