Join BTO Youth at Bournemouth University for a Nightjar talk and an optional walk around Talbot Heath, guided by BTO Youth Representatives Mya Bambrick and Kate Fox.

Join BTO Youth and leading nightjar expert Brian Cresswell from the Dorset Nightjar Study Group at Bournemouth University for a talk all about European nightjars. There will also be the option to join us on a walk around nearby Talbot Heath to look and listen out for Nightjars.

The talk will be located in the Lawrence Lecture Theatre (Poole House building) on Talbot Campus, beginning at 7:30pm and ending at around 8:30pm with enough time for a Q&A. Then, the group is led on an optional walk at 9pm to look for Nightjars at dusk, with the full event ending at around 10:30pm outside of the campus bus station.

The talk at Bournemouth University is accessible to all participants and there is a visitor and events car park located outside of Talbot House. The walk at Talbot Heath is uneven with gravel and mud paths. Torches and suitable footwear are advised as it will be dark by the time the walk has finished. 

Please note that this event is open to 12-25-year-olds only. Participants under 18 will need to fill in a consent form with their parent(s)/carer(s) and send this to BTO Youth before the event.
