Join BTO's Youth Representatives in a Q&A with BBC Security Correspondent, and President of BTO, Frank Gardner.

In this session, Frank will talk about his career to date and answer your questions about his work with the BBC, his passion for birds, and what it's like to be President of BTO.

Frank Gardner is a keen birder and naturalist and was elected President of the BTO in 2019. He is also the BBC's full-time Security Correspondent reporting on global security issues from Afghanistan to the Arctic. In 2004 he and his cameraman were ambushed by terrorists in Saudi Arabia and Frank was shot 6 times but returned to work with a wheelchair. He was awarded an OBE by The Queen for services to journalism and honorary doctorates from seven UK universities. In 2016 he fulfilled a lifetime ambition by travelling to Papua New Guinea to see birds of paradise, filming for a series on BBC2. In 2020 he travelled through the Colombian jungle on horseback while filming 'Saving Eden' for BBC2. He is the author of 5 bestsellers with his latest spy novel Outbreak having been released earlier this year. His nature photos Instagram feed is @frankgardner_nature.
