Join BTO's Youth Representatives in a Q&A with the Chief Scientist at BirdLife International, Stuart Butchart.

In this session, Stuart will talk about his career to date and answer your questions about birds, ornithology and working across borders to protect birds.

Stuart is Chief Scientist at BirdLife International, where he leads a team who develop BirdLife’s global scientific data, research and priority-setting. This underpins the conservation programmes implemented by the BirdLife Partnership of 115 national biodiversity conservation organisations around the world, and BirdLife’s policy, advocacy and communications. This includes identifying which bird species are closest to extinction (in our role as Red List Authority for birds for IUCN), guiding identification of Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas, and collaborative research on threats to the world’s birds and biodiversity, solutions to address these threats, and indicators to track global environmental trends and measure conservation impact.

This event will take place on Zoom and is open to those under 25 only. The link will be sent out 24 hours before the event. Please note that attendees under 13 will need to send in a consent form prior to the event.
