Join BTO Youth at Gosforth Nature Reserve for a nature walk looking at spring migrants and insects, guided by young expert David Raffle.

Join David for a morning walk taking in the wetlands and woodlands of Gosforth Nature Reserve and the many bird species that can be found there. The reserve is home to a variety of newly arriving spring migrants and insects and there is always a chance of something more unusual like a Kingfisher or Water Rail.

Ideal for beginners and new birders, this is a great opportunity to meet other young people and put your ID skills into practise. We will also keep an eye out for any woodland birds and other wildlife, such as Roe Deer, that can be found at the reserve.

We will be meeting at the new Field Studies Room by the reserve entrance at 9:30, aiming to finish at 12:00. Waterproofs and good boots or wellies will be needed. The entrance to Gosforth Nature Reserve is on Salter’s Lane and can be reached by bicycle, bus or car. More information about Gosforth Nature Reserve and how to get there can be found here.

Gosforth Nature Reserve is managed by the Natural History Society of Northumbria
