Join BTO's Youth Representatives in a Q&A with the Head of the IUCN Red List Unit, Craig Hilton-Taylor.

In this session, Craig will talk about his career and answer your questions about nature, the biodiversity crisis and the Red List. Craig has been head of the IUCN Red List Unit for the past 22 years. The unit is responsible for overseeing the production and maintenance of The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

His responsibilities include project development, fundraising, planning and management, implementation of projects, managing staff, facilitating workshops, and more. His work requires liaison with a network of species experts, conservation organizations, and with governments and intergovernmental conservation bodies. Prior to joining IUCN, Craig worked for the South African National Biodiversity Institute dealing with in-situ and ex-situ plant conservation matters, including the development of a national plant Red List programme, identification of key plant areas, ex situ conservation policy for botanic gardens, and representing national government at intergovernmental conservation treaty meetings. He also has several years’ experience running field projects to identify local conservation priorities.

This event will take place on Zoom and is open to those under 25 only. The link will be sent out 24 hours before the event. Please note that attendees under 13 will need to send in a consent form prior to the event.
