Develop your butterfly identification skills and learn how to use them in the Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey (WCBS)

This training workshop is for those who are keen to get involved in the Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey (WCBS) and for existing participants who want to refresh their skills.

There will be an indoor session explaining how to do the Wider Countryside Butterfly Survey (WCBS) and why it is important, and providing an overview of the common butterfly species likely to be encountered. This will be followed by an outdoor session practising butterfly identification, setting up a route and completing a survey.

This 1-day workshop costs £5 and booking is essential as places are limited. It is specifically targeted to increase WCBS coverage, hence it is offered at a heavily subsidised rate.

Please bring a packed lunch and wear appropriate clothing for the outdoor elements.

Online booking is available for this event but if you have any queries about booking a place, please email the BTO Supporter Team at membership [at] bto.org or ring 01842 750050.
