A Photographic Guide to the Birds of Jamaica

This handy-sized book follows the familiar format of a typical field guide, but is a comprehensive guide to the birds of this important Caribbean Island. An introductory section describes the main habitat types around the island, and off-shore, whilst the main field guide section uses photographs to illustrate each species. Where different plumages are likely to be encountered (male/female, adult/juvenile or breeding season/winter) multiple pictures are given and a map shows distribution. Brief written notes are given of vagrants. As the book is so comprehensive it is ideal for anyone holidaying or visiting Jamaica and can also be used as the main guide for more determined birders.
