A Photographic Guide to the Birds of the Cayman Islands

The three Cayman Islands are a group of small low-lying islands in the Caribbean 150-175 miles from each of Jamaica and Cuba.  This book provides a photograph (mostly good) and some text covering identification, habitat, range and status of all 50 breeding and nearly 200 other species which have been recorded.  As such it serves as both a guide and a checklist although the location means that many other migrants could potentially occur.  Sadly though some of those which would have been of real interest, the various endemic forms, are already extinct.

Overall a useful guide but, islands being what they are with each one containing a different set of species, it will have limited use outside of the Cayman Island group itself.
