The Running Sky: A Birdwatching Life

A stunning piece of nature writing, ostensibly merely a lively record of birds encountered during Tim Dee’s life. Tim has always been aware of the birds around him and has always placed them into his world of experiences too. He ponders on the questions that we all must have asked ourselves at some time – just how do Redstarts, only a few weeks out of the nest, manage to head to Africa? There has been a renaissance of nature writing in the past couple of years, ranging from poor to excellent. This style of literature is, perhaps, not to everyone’s taste but, if you have never dipped into a book like this, then make sure if you read only one, it is this one.
