Join GBW and help garden birds
BTO is a charity that relies on the generosity of passionate birdwatchers like you. Funds raised from GBW mean that we can better understand how to help garden birds and other wildlife.
During lockdown, BTO not only wishes to help our garden birds, but we want to bring people together and support wellbeing. We are therefore offering GBW for free to encourage people to discover the joy of birdwatching and nature during the Covid-19 lockdown. Whilst we can offer this subscription for free at this time, it does mean that BTO will lose a significant source of income. If you are in the position to help with a donation, however large or small, we would be extremely grateful.
Thank you for your support.
The free offer will include access to our online recording system, and our regular e-newsletter with information on recording and identifying garden wildlife. The free membership will be valid for one year, after which it will expire as normal.
The project is funded by our members through an annual subscription of £17. Under normal circumstances, joining GBW includes:
- A copy of the acclaimed 220-page 'Garden Birds and Other Wildlife' (RRP £14.99), which will help you identify and learn more about your garden wildlife
- Our magazine Bird Table delivered four times a year
- Access to expert advice from the BTO to help you identify, understand and look after the wildlife in your garden
- Our regular e-newsletter, packed with information on recording and identifying garden wildlife, and news from the GBW community
At this exceptional time, we are unable to offer the joining pack with book and magazine; instead we are offering an online GBW membership for free, with regular electronic communications to keep you connected.
Give Garden BirdWatch as a gift
Buy a GBW gift membership by credit or debit card and choose to whether to receive the giftpack or send directly to the recipient.
Due to current exceptional circumstances, we do not know when delivery of gift membership packs will resume - we will send them as soon as we are able.
