Join BTO Youth Reps Alice and Joe as they host an evening of talks from guests involved in the BTO Nest Record Scheme.
For our third session Alice and Joe will be joined by: Amira, Jack Slattery and Tommy Saunders, you can find out more about them below.
This session is open to anyone under the age of 30 wanting to find out more about the BTO Nest Record Scheme, learn how to monitor and find nests, and hear stories from the field! This directly supplements our going Nest Recording Competition: Nest Quest!
Amira:
"Amira focuses on monitoring the nests of warbler species, including Wood Warbler, Chiffchaff and Western Bonelli’s Warbler, as part of her work with the Swiss Ornithological Institute. However, she developed her love and knowledge of nest recording here in the UK, mainly in Cornwall."
Jack Slattery:
"Jack is a nest recorder based in North Wales primarily interested in upland breeding passerines and birds of prey including Choughs, Dippers, Hen Harriers and Ring Ouzels. He also has experience of monitoring waders including Curlews, Lapwings, Ringed Plovers and Oystercatchers. He works for the RSPB as a Conservation Officer covering Northern Snowdonia, Llŷn and Anglesey."
Tommy Saunders:
“Tommy specialises in finding raptor nests in and around the New Forest and spends much of his time climbing up trees to monitor goshawk and honey buzzard nests.”
You can ask our team any and all questions about nest recording and Nest Quest.
Please note that attendees under 13 will need to send in a consent form prior to the event.
