Join BTO Youth and Action For Conservation for a wildlife wander around Pennington Flash Nature Reserve, guided by Youth Representative Hannah, the AFC Ambassadors, and AFC Programme Manager Emma Schofield.

Join BTO Youth Representative Hannah and the Action For Conservation team for a mindful morning identification walk around the beautiful Pennington Flash, a nature reserve full of history and wildlife. As part of the grand-scale nature corridor throughout Wigan and Leigh, you will be in for a treat with the array of species so close to town. After lunch, the Action For Conservation team will lead a nature event, where participants can opt for creating wildflower seed balls or a supervised litter pick.

Toilets are accessible at the start and throughout the walk. The distance of the walk is approximately 5km. Site is relatively wheelchair accessible, from car park to bird hides. If areas are muddy, the team will amend the route accordingly.

This event is run with the support of BTO and Action For Conservation.

Any questions or to get in touch with the organisers please email youth [at] bto.org.

Please note that this event is free to attend and open to 12–25-year-olds. Participants under 18 will need to fill in a consent form with their parent(s)/carer(s) and send this to BTO before the event.
