NI Wetland Bird Survey Training (Online)

Learn the survey methods for the Wetland Bird Survey (WeBS) and some basic waterbird ID in this online course specifically for a Northern Ireland audience.

Build your confidence with the Wetland Bird Survey methods, and learn how you can put your skills to good use locally in this valuable survey. 

This course aims to provide you with the following:

• An understanding of how to carrying out WeBS counts.
• An introduction to waterbird ID
• Guidance on counting flocks of birds from experienced surveyors.

In order to participate you will need:

• broadband of sufficient speed to view live video (we can carry out a test in advance if you are unsure)
• a computer with sound and ideally a webcam, or a tablet/smartphone

This course is specifically targeted to increase WeBS coverage in Northern Ireland. It has been subsidised by NIEA, allowing us to offer it free of charge!
