A Birdwatching Guide to North East Germany and its Baltic Coast
The area is divided up into four rectangles, north west, north east, south west and south east. This approach gives the book incredible clarity and makes it very user friendly.
In each rectangle there is a numbered list of the most notable sites, followed by a detailed description of the site, how to get there and what to expect when you do. These are also very user friendly and include very detailed directions to the best viewing areas once you are on a particular site. The approach is consistent throughout the book, making the information for a visit to any of the 63 sites listed extremely easy to find. There is a beautifully clear and easy to use map for every site.
The book closes with a full list of the birds that have been recorded in the area, including both the English and German names.
Roger White has visited the area many times and his knowledge of the sites shines through, the uncluttered and easy to use style make this book a must for anyone planning a birding trip to this under-visited area of Europe. Leave without it at your peril.
