The Editors of the Northern Ireland Seabird Report 2025 are grateful to the SMP, which includes BTO and JNCC (and RSPB as associate partner), for their assistance with data and strategy, and to Nina O’Hanlon, Erin Taylor and Dawn Balmer of BTO for their comments on and contributions to the draft. Special thanks to all those who have surveyed seabirds, collected data or provided information to assist us over the years. Thanks also to those who have contributed their photographs to this edition and others. This report would be impossible without your efforts and you have contributed to our knowledge of seabird populations in Northern Ireland.

We are also grateful for funding from the Environment Fund managed by NIEA/DAERA, particularly with the support of Steven Fyffe, Richard Gray, Claire Macnamara, Aoibheann Morrison, Ronan Owens, Liz Pothanikat and Richard Weyl.
