Moult in Birds, by H B Ginn & D S Melville was published by BTO in 1983 and reprinted in 1995. It has since been out of print. The work set out to give a brief summary of the nature and variety of plumage in UK birds, to provide a basic text on techniques for recording moult and moult patterns, and to indicate gaps in our knowledge of the subject.
