Event description

Join us for this year's Northern Ireland Seabird Report launch event!

We are returning to Bangor Castle thanks to Ards & North Down Borough Council and Coffee Cure, for a programme of seabird-related talks, tea, coffee and buns.

We will introduce the hot-off-the-press Northern Ireland Seabird Report and celebrate the efforts of our volunteers and collaborators who underpin seabird monitoring in Northern Ireland. We'll also hear from a number of speakers, including BirdWatch Ireland's Brian Burke who will be sharing about Little Tern conservation and BTO Senior Research Ecologist Daniel Johnston about GPS-tagging Lesser Black-backed Gulls on Lough Neagh's islands.

Our launch events are a great opportunity to meet other seabird enthusiasts in Northern Ireland, the BTO Northern Ireland team, and to learn more about seabird monitoring and ecology.

Attendees will be the first to receive their very own hard-copy of the 2025 report!

Registration closes on Thursday 19th March.
