Join Gethin Jenkins-Jones for a morning session to find out more about the Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) and how you could take part in it.

By joining the local BBS team, you’ll be making a really valuable contribution (especially as this is the county with the lowest coverage in Wales). This survey allows us to track changes in our bird populations across the UK, helping us to inform their future protection.

Although an important survey, BBS requires only around six hours of your time each year, and all it involves is two visits to a 1-km square, where you’ll note the birds present.

Whether you’re thinking of taking part in the survey for the first time or an existing volunteer who’d like a refresher, be sure to join us at this welcoming and supportive session.

Please note this isn’t a bird identification session. It is aimed at volunteers who are relatively confident in bird ID by sight, song and call.

The event will take place at this location between 10:00 and 12:30am.

Please bring your own binoculars and notebook, and make sure to wear appropriate clothing for the weather conditions.

Further information about the meeting place and nearby parking and toilet facilities will be emailed to registered participants.

We look forward to seeing you there!
