Jo Goodfellow

Youth Engagement Manager

Office: Thetford
Team(s): BTO Youth

Role and responsibilities

Jo manages the BTO Youth Engagement team, helping create fun ways for young people to engage with birds, science, and nature. She leads youth initiatives, works closely with staff and volunteers, and makes sure there are welcoming spaces for everyone to get involved.

Jo's role focuses on building supportive communities for young birders and making it easier for people to join in. A lot of her work involves teaming up with BTO's youth volunteers to support youth-led events, training opportunities, and projects that help young people learn, connect, and grow their confidence. She loves seeing people try new things, share their passion for birds, and form friendships along the way.

Interests

Jo is always learning herself and enjoys picking up new bird ID skills from our youth volunteers. She finds it inspiring to watch young people develop - from attending their first youth event to taking on bigger roles and contributing to wider BTO projects.
