An introductory course on the species of Bumblebee most commonly encountered in gardens, their ecology and how to record them in BTO Garden BirdWatch.

The training will consist of one online module of 90–100 minutes. The training will be run by BTO staff members Rob Jaques and Susan Jones.
In the session we look at the ecology of these insects, how to separate bumblebees from similar looking insects, and how to identify the 7 species most commonly encountered in gardens. Throughout the session there will be a number of interactive elements, to embed the learning.
In order to participate you will need:
- broadband of sufficient speed to view live video
- a computer with sound and ideally a webcam, or a tablet/smartphone.
