Butterfly species codes
A number of butterfly species can be recorded through Garden BirdWatch. While online users can use the butterfly tab on their data entry form, those using paper forms will need to know the species code to use. 'Common' species are those most likely to be encountered in a garden setting. 'Uncommon' species are those more likely to be encountered in the wider countryside. Three of the species are 'rare immigrants' and may turn up in a garden.
