They may be small, but insects are abundant, diverse, and integral to life on earth!
This beginner-friendly event offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at the museum’s pinned insect collection, followed by a fun scavenger hunt through the galleries.
Whether you’re already interested in bugs or just curious to learn more, this is a great opportunity to discover the incredible diversity of insects and meet other young people who share an interest in nature.
This event is free and open to 16-25 year olds.
What to expect:
During this event, you’ll:
- Take a behind-the-scenes tour of the museum’s pinned insect collection
- Learn about the diversity of insects and how museum collections are used in research
- Take part in a scavenger hunt-style workshop exploring the natural history galleries
- Meet other young people interested in wildlife and conservation
The event is designed to be friendly and accessible for beginners, so no prior knowledge or equipment is needed.
Under 18s:
Under 18s must complete and send a consent form to youth@bto.org prior to the event.
Accessibility:
The World Museum is wheelchair accessible and has toilets on each floor. Seating is available throughout the museum.
