There are many different opportunities to be part of the BTO community, whether that is as a volunteer, a staff member or something else entirely. We can help you to develop your interest in birds and gain new skills, plus you'll have the opportunity to meet and work with like-minded individuals.
Talk to a Regional Rep
A Regional Representative (RR) is our local leader for BTO in their region, and a key point of contact for other local members and volunteers. Use our Regional Directory Network map to find and contact your local rep.
Find a BTO event
From walks and talks to training and our annual conference, BTO runs lots of events throughout the year for members, volunteers, partners and employees alike. Online, in-person, across the UK, for youth and adults.
Find a bird club
The UK has lots of local bird clubs and natural history societies that play an important role in helping bird and nature enthusiasts improve their birding knowledge, develop their skills and meet like-minded people.

Although the focus of our work is here in the UK, we also work internationally across our flyway and beyond. Find out more about our teams and volunteers in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
Meet our Youth Advisory Panel
Our Youth Advisory Panel (YAP) helps us connect, listen and engage with younger supporters. To understand the barriers they face and hear their ideas that will encourage more young people to engage with birds, nature and BTO.
