Join BTO Youth and Buglife for an afternoon learning how to identify the 10 pollinator groups and how to do a FIT count, hosted by Alice & Shan (BTO Youth)

Event Description

This event will go through how to carry out a FIT count survey. The key aims of the event are to learn how to identify the 10 pollinator groups as well as how to conduct a FIT count. We will head outside to find target flowers, practice ID skills and carry out at least one count. You will also have the opportunity to learn more about BTO surveys. Open to beginner, but any level is welcome to join.


The event is free to attend and open to young people between the ages of 12 and 25. Please note, under 16s will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian and 16-17 year olds will need to complete a consent form prior to attending. Consent forms will be sent following registration. Completed forms must be sent to youth@bto.org before the event.


Please note that there are toilets and a cafe on site, please bring plenty of water and a packed lunch with you. The area this event is taking part in is Wheelchair freindly, this event is therefore suitable for wheelchair users. 

Nearby bus and train services are available, and support can be offered if required.

Please bring binoculars if you have them (we will be able to provide a small number to share amongst attendees).
