Bird Table is the quarterly magazine of the BTO Garden BirdWatch. Packed with informative articles and stunning photographs it is sent to those participating in this 'citizen science' project.
As well as reporting back on some of the results emerging from the scheme, the magazine has articles on bird identification, wildlife gardening, behaviour, ecology and observations from participants' gardens.

A number of books have been produced by the Garden BirdWatch Team, covering various topics related to gardens and their wildlife.
These are aimed at a wide readership and have been well-received. Recent publications include Gardening for BirdWatchers and Garden Birds & Wildlife, the former published by the BTO and the latter in conjunction with AA Publishing. Find out more >>>
Peer-reviewed scientific outputs are an essential part of our work, enabling BTO science to reach a wide audience and to support and underpin policy and ecological study.
Many of the papers that we publish are derived from analyses of the main Garden BirdWatch dataset. However, we also carry out other projects, for example the Shortest Day Survey, which also produce scientific outputs in the form of peer-reviewed papers. Find out more >>>
We have produced a number of leaflets and guides to provide advice on different topics relating to garden wildlife. We are currently updating all of these, so some are out of stock.
We will make the revised versions available electronically later in the year. For more information >>>
Each month the GBW Team sends out a free e-newsletter, featuring the latest news on garden birds, what to look out for, and gardening tips. We also share exciting stories from GBW participants and the best photos from the GBW Flickr pool.
Making the findings of our research available to a wider audience is a key component of our work. As such, we produce regular press releases to report our latest findings and to drum up support for our work.
Press releases are managed by Clare Simm (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Mike Toms (email@example.com) within the Garden Ecology Team in association with the BTO Press Officer Paul Stancliffe (firstname.lastname@example.org). Access our latest press releases >>>
