Bird Atlas 2007 - 11
Book Auction

 

A superb, private collection of bird and natural history books with additional top quality books donated by other BTO supporters, was auctioned on Friday 20 June to raise funds for the Atlas Appeal.

Over 500 lots of mainly 20th Century ornithological books were auctioned including:

A complete set of Collins New Naturalist series.
Collection of Poyser first editions.
Thomas Bewick, History of British Birds, 1797-1804, first edition, two volumes.
John Guille Millais, Natural History of the British Surface Feeding Ducks, 1902, limited edition of 600.
Henry Stevenson & Thomas Southwell, History of the Birds of Norfolk, 1866-90, first edition, three volumes.
Peter Olney, The Wildfowl Paintings of Henry Jones, 1987, limited edition of 350.
D.A. Bannerman & G.E. Lodge, The Birds of the British Isles, 1953-63, first edition, twelve volumes.
Abel Chapman, On Safari, 1908, first edition.

The auction raised an incredible £35,000
for Bird Atlas 2007-11

The Nunnery
Book Sale:

The Secondhand book sale of hundreds of less expensive bird and other natural history books
raised nearly £2,500.

Again, all proceeds have gone towards the Atlas Appeal.
