Slow autumn for some migrants

Breeding across Siberia, the tiny Yellow-browed Warbler has become an expected visitor in autumn. In contrast to last year's phenomenal influx, the number of Yellow-browed Warblers reported this year has been lowr, matching the more modest reporting rate for 2014 and 2015.

The reporting rate for some other migrants was also below average in October. Most notable of these was Wheatear, with a reporting rate almost half of the historical average. Similarly, Whinchat was reported on fewer of your complete lists
