New visualisations in BirdTrack

07 Mar 2017 Explore data

Three new visualisation options have been added to the 'Explore data' menu in the global data entry portal, visible when you're logged in to your BirdTrack account. These graphs are improved versions of those you can currently find in Explore my records in the Britain and Ireland portal, and complement the existing 'Explore my records' and 'Map my records' features.

(1) Species accumulation

With this visualisation you can graph how your year list of species recorded in BirdTrack progressed during the selected year. It is fully searchable by year, country and region. For Britain and Ireland, you can also graph your dragonfly and mammal records if you choose the Odonata or Mammal baselists from the baselist dropdown menu.

(2) Species per year

This graph allows you to see how many species you have logged in BirdTrack across different years. You can search by date, country, region and site. As with the previous graph, you can view your dragonfly and mammal records logged in Britain and Ireland.

(3) Species per month

You can use this graph to find out in which month you have recorded the most species in BirdTrack at a particular site or region. There is a full range of search options to fully customise the graphs, including mammal and dragonfly records entered on BirdTrack.
