Final call for EBBA2 records

12 Dec 2017 Cirl Bunting by Jeff Lack

The fieldwork period for the second European Breeding Bird Atlas (EBBA2) – the 2013–17 breeding seasons – has now ended. However, you can still add sightings from that period. Especially valuable are records from more remote areas of Britain and Ireland. Sightings from the eastern part of the EBBA2 area, particularly Turkey and Russia, will also be very useful. If you have relevant sightings with breeding evidence, please add them to BirdTrack by Friday 22 December.

Once the records have been collated, data checking and analysis will start. Considering the huge numbers of sightings submitted over the four years, this will likely take several years to complete, and it is currently estimated that the results will be published in 2020.
