A date for your diary is the Scottish Birdwatchers' Conference taking place at the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre, Peebles on 19 March 2016. Hosted jointly by BTO Scotland and the SOC Borders Branch, it features a distinguished line-up of speakers from the BTO, RSPB and others. A visit to Thornielee raptor view point to look for displaying Goshawk is planned for the following day.

Another of the BirdTrack partners, the Welsh Ornithological Society is offering small grants towards research projects on birds in Wales. Of particular interest are those projects that focus on Amber or Red-listed species listed in Population Status of Birds in Wales 2. The closing date for applications is 29 February 2016.
