Recording dragonflies in BirdTrack

Besides birds, you can also log dragonflies in BirdTrack online, and these records are passed on to the British Dragonfly Society. To add dragonfly records, switch from the "Birds" to the "Dragonflies" tab on the species list or casual records page. The various boxes in each row allow you to enter counts for the number of adults, exuvia or larva encountered. Optional details, such as habitat notes and pinpoint grid references are also available.

If you are unsure about how to record the different life stages, you can find more detailed information in our help section. For identification queries,  the British Dragonfly Society has a handy species guide to help you with some of the tricker species, such as Common and Ruddy Darters.
