Baselists and the new BirdTrack App

One change with the new version of the iOS App is that there are multiple baselists available. These include international lists such as IOC and BirdLife International, as well as regional ones such as BirdTrack Legacy and BOU. After uploading, all lists created are only viewable through the global data entry portal, with the exception of lists generated using BirdTrack Legacy baselist (which are also shown in the Britain and Ireland data entry portal).

If you have submitted a list for a site in Britain and Ireland but used a baselist other than BirdTrack Legacy, you can “import” it into the Britain and Ireland portal by logging into the global data entry portal and then clicking on “My records”. Next click on the uploaded list and then “Edit submission”. Finish the editing process as usual (clicking “Next” and “Submit”) and your list will be visible in both portals.

You can avoid doing the above by switching to the BirdTrack legacy baselist in the App. To do this, go to Settings and then to the baselist submenu. Tap on "BirdTrack legacy" and finally "Update" in the main Settings page. One thing to note is that we are planning to merge the two data entry portals before the end of the year so this is only a very temporary measure.
