Dive in to the pool

The BirdTrack flickr pool is a great place to share your bird (and dragonfly) images. With more than 500 contributors and 20,000 photos, our flickr pool has become a valuable resource, allowing you to search for pictures of a particular species and get helpful advice on identification and photography from other users. The only 'condition' of adding photos is that you also add the records to BirdTrack, so that they can be part of a rapidly-growing and increasingly important dataset about Britain and Ireland's birds!

At this time of year, please exercise caution when photographing and sharing images of breeding birds. Remember that a license is needed to photograph Schedule 1 breeding species at or near the nest. For more advice, the Scottish Natural Heritage guidance is a good place to start. We also strongly encourage you to read the Rare Breeding Birds Panel's guidelines for reporting rare breeding species. Records of rare breeding species are hidden from BirdTrack's public
outputs, so it is fine to submit them as normal. If in doubt, there's a
user-operable 'sensitive' flag that you can add to individual records.
